Interplay between electron-phonon and Coulomb interactions in cuprates

چکیده

Evidence for strong electron-phonon coupling in high-Tc cuprates is reviewed, with emphasis on the electron and phonon spectral functions. Effects due to the interplay between the Coulomb and electron-phonon interactions are studied. For weakly doped cuprates, the phonon self-energy is strongly reduced due to correlation effects, while there is no corresponding strong reduction for the electron selfenergy. Polaron formation is studied, focusing on effects of Coulomb interaction and antiferromagnetic correlations. It is argued that experimental indications of polaron formation in undoped cuprates are due to a strong electron-phonon interaction for these systems. DYNAMICAL PAIRING CORRELATIONS IN THE t–J MODEL WITH NON–ADIABATIC HOLE–PHONON COUPLING

The interplay of electronic and lattice degrees of freedom in strongly electron– correlated systems is now attracting a lot of attention. This interest is partially due to the prominent role of the electron–phonon (EP) interaction in several transition metal oxides with strong Coulomb correlations, such as the colossal magnetoresistive manganites or the charge–ordered (insulating) nickelates. F...

Interactions and superconductivity in heavily doped MoS2

We analyze the microscopic origin and the physical properties of the superconducting phase recently observed in MoS2. We show how the combination of the valley structure of the conduction band, the density dependence of the screening of the long-range Coulomb interactions, the short-range electronic repulsion, and the relative weakness of the electron-phonon interactions makes possible the exis...

Superconducting Polarons and Bipolarons

The seminal work by Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer (BCS) extended further by Eliashberg to the intermediate coupling regime solved one of the major scientific problems of Condensed Matter Physics in the last century. The BCS theory provides qualitative and in many cases quantitative descriptions of low-temperature superconducting metals and their alloys, and some novel high-temperature supercon...

Bloch Waves of Small High-tc Bipolarons

Over the last decade several competing models of high-temperature super-conductivity were proposed, most of them with short-range interactions. We review a more realistic model with strong on-site repulsive correlations, the Coulomb and strong finite-range electron-phonon interactions. Bipolarons in the model exist in the itinerant Bloch states at temperatures below about half of the characteri...

d-wave superconductivity from electron-phonon interactions

I examine electron-phonon mediated superconductivity in the intermediate coupling and phonon frequency regime of the quasi-2D Holstein model. I use an extended Migdal–Eliashberg theory which includes vertex corrections and spatial fluctuations. I find a d-wave superconducting state that is unique close to half-filling. The order parameter undergoes a transition to s-wave superconductivity on in...
